Checkers Climb

Checkers Climb as I named it is a games jam project developed on Unreal Engine 4 in only 1 day. The phrase "1 room" was the key to this games jam, which I interpreted as the player escaping 1 room. Rather than a horror setting, I wanted to make something less serious looking, and after enough consideration I decided I wanted to make a visual experience out of the game. Using the Advanced Locomotion System V4 to get a strong climbing system and 3rd person camera, I created a tall room littered with platforms for the player to use in their escape, with the twist being the warped perception provided by the checkered colours. From the right angles, the platforms would appear to blend into the background, forcing the player to think carefully about their next move. While not as mechanically rich as one might hope, it is something I'm very proud of visually.
